This policy explains how Lannore protects children and young people. It applies to the website lannore.com, the web app app.lannore.com and the Android and Google TV apps.
1. Lannore is for adults
1.1 Only adults may create an account: you must be at least 18 years old and of legal age to enter into contracts where you live (19 in South Korea). Everyone confirms this when creating an account and before buying.
1.2 Films can only be watched with an account. Every film on Lannore is therefore available only to adults, whatever its age classification.
1.3 If we have reason to believe that an account belongs to a minor, we may ask for proof of age and suspend the account until we receive it. We close accounts of minors. Payments for access that a minor bought without the required consent are refunded to the payer.
2. Content that we do not accept
2.1 We do not accept, and remove without delay, content that is unlawful under section 4 of the German Interstate Treaty on the Protection of Minors in the Media (JMStV) or section 184b or 184c of the German Criminal Code, in particular:
- any depiction of the sexual abuse of children or young people, or sexual depictions of minors;
- pornography;
- content that glorifies war or violence, depicts violence in a way that violates human dignity, or incites hatred against groups of people;
- propaganda and symbols of unconstitutional organisations, and content that denies or trivialises genocide;
- content that the German Federal Agency for the Protection of Children and Young Persons in the Media has placed on its list.
2.2 We report content showing the sexual abuse of children to the competent law enforcement authorities and preserve the evidence as the law requires.
3. Age ratings
3.1 Every film is rated before it is accepted. No film is published without an approved age rating (all ages, 6, 12, 16 or 18).
3.2 How we rate. Where a film already has a recognised rating (for example by the FSK or the FSF), we take it over and record its reference. Otherwise the creator answers our questionnaire when submitting the film: their own assessment, the content concerned (violence, threat and fear, strong language, discrimination, nudity, sexual content, substance use, self-harm, distressing themes, flashing lights), any recognised rating abroad and whether the film contains a deepfake. A trained member of our team then watches and rates the film. Borderline cases and films that may be harmful to minors are escalated to our youth protection officer or a recognised self-regulation body before we decide. Every rating is recorded with its system, basis, reference, reviewer, date, reasons and countries.
3.3 Display. The rating and its main reasons, and any risks from interaction features (for example a premiere chat), are shown on the film page, in the purchase area and at the start of the film, clearly visible before you watch (section 5c of the JMStV).
3.4 Access protection. Films rated 18 and films that may be harmful to minors are shown only behind a reliable age verification. Until Lannore offers one, such films are not published, sold or played; the rest of the catalogue is not affected. A self-declaration of age is not sufficient for them.
3.5 AI notices. Where a film contains a deepfake, that is realistic images, sound or video generated or manipulated with artificial intelligence that could appear authentic, we show a notice on the film page and at the start of the film. Ordinary effects and the use of AI tools are not labelled.
3.6 Scale. While Lannore has fewer than one million users in Germany, we rate films as described in section 3.2, and our documented ratings meet section 14a of the German Youth Protection Act (JuSchG). We change this before Lannore reaches that threshold: from then on, films without a recognised rating are rated by a recognised self-regulation body or a procedure it has recognised.
4. Material visible without an account
4.1 Some material can be seen without an account, for example on lannore.com, on public Award pages and in links that members share: titles, posters, stills, descriptions and Award results. Our editorial team approves this material before publication and does not publish material without an account that is harmful to the development of children or young people.
4.2 Screeners are personal links for named professional recipients, such as festivals and press.
5. Technical measures
5.1 The web app app.lannore.com carries an age label (age-de.xml) for the age of 18 that recognised youth protection programs read. Parents who use such a program can block access for their children.
5.2 The Android and Google TV apps carry the age rating assigned in Google Play, so that parental controls on the device can restrict them.
5.3 Parents can find information about youth protection programs and parental controls, for example, at jugendschutzprogramm.de and klicksafe.de.
6. Reporting content
6.1 Anyone can report a film, a profile, a comment or other content that they consider harmful to minors or unlawful, with the report function in the app or by email to contact@agimetis.com. You do not need an account to report by email.
6.2 We review every report without delay. Reports of possible child sexual abuse material are handled first. We inform the reporting person and the creator of our decision, unless this would endanger an investigation or the law forbids it, and the creator can appeal it (Creator Terms, section 7).
6.3 In an emergency, contact the police. You can also report illegal content to jugendschutz.net or to the internet complaint office of the eco association (internet-beschwerdestelle.de).
7. Youth protection officer and contact
Lannore has appointed a youth protection officer (section 7 of the JMStV), who advises us independently on all questions of youth protection, is involved in the rating process and receives escalated cases. Their name and email address are on the "Legal information" page of the app and in the imprint. Questions about youth protection and information from parents go to that address; until the appointment is published, to contact@agimetis.com with the subject "Youth protection". We answer within five working days and handle reports about minors with priority.
